July 2008 We are pleased to announce we will be holding an additional Wine and Dine evening on Saturday 27th September. Cost is just £20 per head for a three course meal but places will be limited so you are advised to book as early as possible. For further details or to book please call Marion on 01903 761455.

June 2008 Due to there being no suitable locomotive being available, the Clive Groome footplate courses which had been scheduled to run on Saturdays in August have been cancelled, This means that on all Saturdays during August the Lavender Line will be open for normal operations, including public train rides. Our opening page has been now been amended to reflect these changes.
June 2008 Don't forget Father's Day on 15th June. We will be open as usual but on Father's Day all dads go for free.
May 2008 Footplate training courses will take place at the Lavender Line on many Saturdays during the year. Those so far have been identified on our opening page and may possibly run on most Saturdays (apart from special events days) for the rest of the year and until our Santa trains start. Please note: Passenger services will not operate on training course days but visitors will be free to enter the site and watch the trains. Some of our facilities, including the buffet will normally be open. Entry to the site is free on such occasions.
May 2008 Our locomotives page has now been updated with a picture of Martello.
May 2008 After almost exactly three years history repeated itself when on Saturday 17th May Stroudley Terrier No 662, Martello arrived for a second visit to the Lavender Line. The locomotive which arrived by road has been hired from Bressingham by Clive Groome to be used on his footplate training courses so will be seen running on some Saturdays.

May 2008 We have revised the contents of our Footplate Courses page - click here - as we are now very pleased to announce that Clive Groome has chosen the Lavender Line as a base to operate Saturday introductory steam footplate courses. Further information about all his steam footplate courses can be found on the "FOOTPLATE DAYS AND WAYS LTD" website - click here - and which already features a page devoted to the Lavender Line.
May 2008 We are pleased to announce we will be open for May half term on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th May.
May 2008 We regret we are unable to operate a public train service this coming Saturday (3rd May) although the premises will be open to the public and our other facilities will be operating and entry to the site will be free, We regret the short notice given for this.
April 2008 We can now announce an additional attraction - a classic car rally by "Transport 6" from Gatwick which will be held at the Lavender Line on Sunday May 18th. Many cars will be on display throughout the day. (NB. This had been advertised in error earlier as a "Veteran" car rally).
March 2008 A guest locomotive, Austerity 0-6-0 "Rolvenden" has recently arrived from the Kent and East Sussex Railway - more details will be posted later. The loco hopefully will be in steam on Easter Monday.
