Lavender Line Special events 2012
The Lavender Line runs a number of special events through the year alongside our normal passenger services. They usually run to a standard timetable but ticket prices can vary on certain special events.
Mothers day specials: Sunday 18th March
Treat mum with an afternoon out at the Lavender line. For mothering Sunday we will be running our diesel service out of platform 2, this entitles you to unlimited rides throughout the day allowing you come and go when you wish.
All mums go free when accompanied by a paying adult or child

Goods Train Days:
We are pleased to announce that we will be running our goods trains every other month throughout 2012. With such popularity during 2011 we will be running different types of goods trains allowing visitors to enjoy the humble setting of a country freight train.
All goods train services will be hauled by our resident steam engine ‘Austin 1’ with the opportunity to ride in the brake van with the guard. There are future plans to add our shark brake van into the goods trains once it has been renovated to a safe standard.

Easter egg specials: Sunday 8th & Monday 9th April
Our Easter egg specials are the perfect chance to enjoy a fun filled day for both kids and adults. Throughout the day you will be able challenge the bunny hunt by finding all the hidden rabbits, clues will be given but it’s down to team effort for a chance to win a free Easter egg!
Our resident steam engine ‘Austin 1’ will be in operation over both days hauling our ‘Easter pick up goods’ special which will allow passengers to enjoy the beautiful open countryside from our very own toad brake van.

Fathers day specials: Sunday 17th June
The perfect day out to celebrate any Fathers day. Why not treat dad to a day out at the lavender line with unlimited trains rides throughout the day behind one of resident diesels.

Diesel gala: Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July
New for 2012
With all diesel’s from the home fleet in operation over the weekend this is the perfect chance to enjoy the workhorses of our railway working together.
This gala will feature our newly out shopped ‘Hampshire’ thumper unit 205033 in her new beautiful southern green livery, this would not have happened if it wasn’t for years of painstaking maintenance and painting by one of our dedicated volunteers, which has finally shown how she would have looked when rolled out the works!
On platform 1 there will be brake van rides behind one of our resident shunters, giving you the opportunity to parallel depart with the trains departing platform 2.
On platform 2 our resident ‘Thumper’ will take charge of passenger services throughout the day, showing how the famous Hampshire units made their mark on Isfield during the early 1960’s.

Vintage transport gala: Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th October
The highlight of our special events calendar has to be our vintage transport gala weekend. Following in the success of our first transport gala in 2011 we will be holding a similar event to celebrate all things transport.
We are planning on having a visiting steam engine for the event to run alongside our own steam engine ‘Austin 1’.
There will be selection of visiting vintage vehicles on display ranging from steam rollers to vintage buses; these will all be on display in the field by platform 2.
Riley’s railway will be operating on platform 2 with visiting 5 inch gauge engines.
There will also be a selection of live steam layouts on display alongside other 00 gauge layouts.

Autumn colours specials: Sunday 21st & Sunday 28th October
New for 2012
Autumn can be one of the most beautiful times of the year, with yellow and golden colours of the tree’s reflecting off the sunlight Sussex can soon become one of the most picturesque settings in the country.
So why not join us for a day of unlimited train rides with the opportunity to enjoy some of the most beautiful views the south east has to offer.
On Sunday 21st October our unique Wickham railbus will be in operation providing you with a 360 degree view of the countryside whilst watching every move of the driver!
On Sunday 28th October our resident steam engine ‘Austin 1’ will be in steam with our ‘pick up’ goods train, this will enable you to travel in our very own newly restored toad brake van, either inside where a warm stove awaits you, or the outside where you can enjoy the crisp autumn air.
There will also be seasonal autumnal soup on offer in our Cinders buffet throughout the day, where there will also be an open crackling fire ready to greet you.
